2002
- Visit of Laurent Fabius, Minister of the Economy, Finance and Industry, and Roger-Gérard Schwartzenberg, Minister of Research announced measures to help new biotech companies and also the creation of the Genopole® and “Consortium National de la Recherche en Génomique” (GIP) .
- Creation of the GIP “Consortium National de Recherche en Génomique” (CNRG): the national Public Interest Group in genomic research. The National Network of Genopoles, the Centre National de Séquençage and the Centre National de Génotypage are equally important parts of this consortium.
- Inauguration of the agronomic research laboratory, under the supervision of the INRA (Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique) and the CNRS (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique). The agronomic research unit, the URGV (Unité de génomique végétale) is managed by Michel Caboche.
- Arrival on the campus of Research Unit for the immunochemistry of cell regulation and viral interactions managed by Raymond Frade.
- The Genopole® multi-disciplinary workshops were held for the second time.
