The Scientific Organizing Committee has launched a call for oral and/or poster communications for the third edition of the Biomanufacturing Symposium.

The call focuses on ongoing or preliminary research work in fundamental or applied areas related to biomanufacturing and which match the Symposium’s themes.

  • Alternative expression systems
  • Implementing alternative expression systems via the development of appropriate technologies
  • Biosimilars and biogenerics: the outlook
  • Biomanufacturing and synthetic biology: the first industrial successes

Submitted abstracts will be reviewed and selected by the Symposium’s Scientific Organizing Committee for oral or poster presentation.

All selected contributions will be included in the Symposium’s book of abstracts.

INSTRUCTIONS TO AUTHORS

Format of the abstract:

  • 1 page only
  • Font: Arial
  • Title: font size 14, bold, centered
  • Text: font size 10, justified
  • Authors’ names: font size 11, bold, justified
  • Authors’ affiliations: font size 11, italics, left-aligned
  • 4 section titles (in bold type): Objectives, Methods, Results, Discussion
  • Word count of the abstract text (not including the title and the authors’ names and affiliations): 300

Language

Posters and their abstracts can either be in English or French.

  • Submission deadline: June 15, 2010
  • Notice of acceptance/rejection: June 30, 2010

Instructions for oral communications

  • Oral presentations should not exceed 30 minutes (including 5 minutes for questions and answers).
  • The presentation must be in Microsoft® PowerPoint® for Windows® format and should be sent to the organizers at least a week before the symposium.

Instructions for poster communications

  • Maximum size: 1 x 1.20 meters (portrait or landscape format)
  • Authors are responsible for printing and displaying their posters.
  • The posters will be displayed in the cocktail room during lunch time.
  • Authors must be present between these times to present their work.
  • The poster room can be accessed from 7.30am onwards on December 14. All posters must be removed by 8pm at the latest.
