Pierre Tambourin
Chief Executive of Genopole®
An alumnus of the Ecole Polytechnique and Director of research at Inserm, Pierre Tambourin has been Chief Executive of Genopole® in Evry since 1998. In addition, he has presided over the Executive board of the Ecole Normale Supérieure of Cachan. Pierre Tambourin is also Vice president of the world class competitiveness cluster Medicen Paris Region.
From 2003 until 2005, he presided the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) and from 1998 until 2003 the Scientific Council of the Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique (Inra).
From 1993 to 1997, he managed the Life Sciences Department of the CNRS (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique) and, from 1989 to 1992, the Research Department of the Institut Curie.
His research activities in the area of experimental cancerology aimed at understanding the mechanisms that transform normal cells into cancerous cells trying to identify the genes involved (79 international publications).
