Reinforcing skills
Genopole® has implemented several activities for reinforcing the skills available on the biopark.
- Genopole® is contributing to the emergence of tomorrow’s scientific leaders with its Genopole® Research Group Establishment Grants Atiges. The grants are primarily funded by Ile-de-France Regional Council and give young staff researchers from government research institutes the opportunity to set up and run their own group within a lab on the Genopole® biopark.
- Since 2001, Genopole® has awarded 20 Atiges grants.
- Genopole® also funds the “reverse brain drain” by awarding grants (funded by the Ile-de-France Regional Council) to expat French researchers who wish to join a Genopole® lab or company after postdoctoral work abroad.
- Since the scheme was set up in 2000, 63 postdoc researchers have each received a grant worth €55,000 a year; at the end of their two-year fellowships, all had found a job within academia or with a company.
