AN INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS
TO MARK GENOPOLE®'S 10TH ANNIVERSARY
THE GENE : AN EVOLVING CONCEPT
As part of its 10th anniversary celebrations, Genopole®, its campus companies & academic laboratories, the latter's supervisory bodies and the University of Évry-Val-d’Essonne are organizing an international scientific congress entitled: "The Gene : An Evolving Concept".
Genopole's creation coincided with the first published maps of the human genome, which have since revolutionized our vision of health, disease and the environment.
The November 25th congress will bring together over 25 expert speakers from France and across the world to address these questions.
Three of the congress sessions – "The Genome and Health", "The Genome and the Environment" and "The Genome and Emerging Countries" - will be devoted to an analysis of how these revolutions have changed our approach to these issues and how emerging countries can participate in the process.
The congress' closing session on "Engineering Biology" and a round table will provide an overview of the changes to come in the field of biotech and how these changes can be used for the good of humankind and the planet.
An exhibition entitled "Genopole® Success Stories" will recount how the genomics revolution unfolded on campus.
A poster exhibition will present the latest advances in genomics achieved by the Genopole® biopark's research groups.
