Détails de l’offre
A 1 year position is available at the EPGV group in Evry (France, Paris area). EPGV is an INRA group focus on Plant Genomics. It is located in Genoscope, the French national sequencing center, a state of the art genomic sequencing facility and expertise in genome analysis.
Muscadinia rotundifolia, a species closely related to Vitis vinifera, possesses resistance to several pathogens and it is used as resistance donor in breeding programmes at INRA. Fundamental knowledge of the resistance genes will increase the efficiency of grapevine breeding schemes. The genome sequence of Muscadinia rotundifolia is available and automatic transposable element and full gene annotation are underway at the URGI (INRA Versailles). The applicant will manually inspect resistance genes NBS-LRR (Nucleotide-binding site Leucine-rich Repeat) and PRRs (Pattern Recognition Receptors) at the whole genome scale, study their genetic diversity and their evolutionary dynamics in the vine species.
The position will involve strong interaction with other INRA groups (URGI-Versailles, SVQV-Colmar) and Genoscope.
The position is for a candidate interested in genome sequencing, annotation, and comparative evolutionary genomics. The candidate would be a recent PhD or a Master degree with background in computation on HPC facilities, bioinformatics with emphasis on genome sequence and annotation. Knowledge of tools and online resources plant disease resistance gene annotation would be advantageous. Good communication skills are important for the job.
