Description entreprise
The laboratory
Genethon is a leading expert in the design and development of gene therapy products, for rare diseases and mainly for neuromuscular diseases. The institute has developed important skills in the pre-clinical and clinical development of gene therapy products, in particular gene therapy vectors based mainly on AAV and lentivirus. Genethon is situated in the south of Paris, France and is accessible by public transportation.

Genethon is a clinical-stage organization that integrates all the competences leading to early-phase clinical trials including a core facilities and an active translational research unit which is affiliated with Inserm (the premier French public research institute on human health) and with the local University of Evry/University Paris Saclay ( ).

In the research unit, the laboratory of Dr. A. Galy is focused on the hematopoietic and immune systems and develops novel approaches in gene therapies targeting blood or immune function. Recently, the laboratory discovered novel possibilities for gene modification in B cells. A new thematic of work has emerged around immunoglobulin gene editing in B cells in the perspective of therapeutic applications. The project is funded by a grant from the French National Research Agency.
